Nakhchivansky
Jamshid Jafarqulu
(10.8.1895, Nakhchivan – 26.8.1938) – a military official,
brigade commander. He finished Yelizavetgrad Guards school
(Western Ukraine) (1915). He was a commander of the cavalry
troops gathered from Muslims during the I Great Patriotic War,
participated in the organization of “Brusilov front” and was
awarded with the 4-grade order “Saint George” in Austria-Romania
front he got wounded three times and granted with the silver
weapon, the prizes of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th
degree orders of Anna and 2nd, 3rd degree
Stanislav as a brave cavalry officer. After the destruction of
the Southwest front quarters officer J.Nakhchivansky returned
with his troops to Azerbaijan and cleaned Baku from the enemies
together with the Turkish troops and Azerbaijan Detached Corpse
on the 15th of September in 1918. J.Nakhchivansky
confidently fought for the independence of Azerbaijan.
L.nakhchivansky attended to the short-term courses at High
Military Academy in Moscow in 1923 and 1928 and after his return
to Azerbaijan became a division commander again.
He was a member of the Central Executive Committees of
Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic and Tran Caucasus Soviet
Federative Socialist Republic. He was awarded with the orders of
Red Flag, Red Labor Flag and Red Stars. A Street in Baku and
Nakhchivan carries his name currently. His memorial house was
created in Nakhchivan |
